A Charming 1920s Apartment in Gothenburg

In a popular neighborhood in Sweden’s second city, Gothenburg, lies this renovated apartment where period elements from the 1920s are paired with a new kitchen and bathroom in period style.

The 60 square meters features many preserved original details, including beautiful single-pane windows with cultural glass. Originally, the apartment had one large bedroom, which has now been divided into two, including an inner hall with pink bookshelves.

The living room is a calm space with large windows facing the apartment building’s quiet front garden. High corner bookshelves keep the room airy and free of large bulky furniture, while still adding storage.

By the window, there is space for a large dining table. The rustic wooden folding table adds character to the space. By adding a built-in corner bench, you could create more seating space, while also freeing up some floor space leading to the built-in pantry.
