Floral Textiles, Period Details, and a Garden Oasis in a London Family Home
Behind a London stock brick facade of an Edwardian semi-detached house in north-west London lies a magnificent home, carefully designed by the creatives behind Buchanan Studio.
The 2,600-square-foot family home is packed with period details, such as large bay windows and original fireplaces. These early-1900s elements are combined with charming details, such as reclaimed timber doors, Delft tiles, and a magnificent fabric collection.
In addition to the beautiful interiors, the house features an oasis-like garden with an outdoor kitchen, a garden room, and multiple seating areas.

The Edwardian part of the house features a traditional layout, with a double living room separated by double doors. The house has a spacious and bright kitchen extension, like so many of these Edwardian and Victorian houses.

The front room is bathed in light thanks to the large bay window and high ceiling with the original cornicing. The room is centered around a fireplace (also original), while the decor pairs natural hues and materials with an eye-catching floral sofa (the Studio Sofa by Buchanan Studio).

The back room also features an original fireplace flanked by bookshelves. Light pours in through the glass sliding door leading to the kitchen extension and a skylight right outside the door.

The doorway between the two sitting rooms is framed by Delft tiles.

The extended kitchen and dining area features a pitched ceiling with tongue-and-groove paneling punctuated by skylights. In combination with the glazing overlooking the garden, the room is wonderfully bright and connected to the outdoors.

A combination of chic rose-colored marble and restaurant-grade stainless steel countertops and kitchen units creates a unique kitchen look. The rounded steel countertops add a softness to the industrial-style material.

Double glazed doors open up to a walk-in pantry with floral curtains and wooden shelves.

The marble-topped dining table is surrounded by wooden chairs upholstered with the Reverse Ticking Rose fabric, a Buchanan fabric designed in collaboration with Violet Dent.

The entry hall features reclaimed tiles in a checkerboard pattern.

The master bedroom is located on the first floor, matching the floor plan of the two sitting rooms below. The room features a large bay window, original floorboards, and a fireplace.

An arched doorway leads to the dressing room with fitted storage.

Vintage glass-paneled double doors from English Salvage separate the sleeping quarters from the en-suite bathroom.

A freestanding bath takes center stage, sitting cozy in front of the original fireplace.

The double sink sits snugly between two “cabins” (one housing the toilet and one the shower). These cabinets feature Moroccan zellige tiles in a soft pink-and-white checkerboard pattern, while a chic marble slab with a ledge sits behind the sinks.

A small bedroom on the same floor is wallpaper-drenched with the “Ticking Rose” wallpaper from Buchanan Studio.

The second floor is home to three more bedrooms, each designed with tongue-and-groove paneling. The coziest bedroom is color-drenched in a soft pink and features an antique cane bed tucked nicely into the niche under the window.

An antique oak architrave frames the entrance to the shared bathroom on the half landing.

The bathroom is designed in a cheerful palette of pink and yellow hues.

The house features a beautiful back garden with lawned and paved areas, established planting, and an apple tree in the center.

The garden borders are filled with roses, peonies, lavender, rosemary, and anemones. The garden room (with wall-mounted heaters, a butler sink, and electricity) is framed by wisteria.

The house is listed for £1.575.000 at Inigo.
