Light-Filled Rooms in a Historic Gothenburg Apartment
This charming two-bedroom apartment is located in one of the few turn-of-the-century apartment buildings in the Majorna area of Gothenburg. It is on the third floor and features bright, light-filled spaces with generous ceiling heights and large windows.
The apartment features many original details from the year 1903, when the house was built. The windows, stone benches, mirror doors, stucco, ceiling rosettes, moldings, and parts of the kitchen are original, adding plenty of historic character to the neutral tones spaces.

The living room is decorated in light tones but the paneled walls, wooden floorboards, and large windows flooding the room with light, turn this space into a warm and inviting room.
The original features show the history of the apartment and these elements automatically add character to any space.
Wooden double doors separate the living room from the largest bedroom, which is now a children’s room.
Just as in the living room, this room has white walls with wooden panels, a wooden floor, and ceiling ornaments.
In the kitchen, old-fashioned charm and modern design meet in a harmonious way. The modern kitchen has smooth white cabinets, white tiles, and a granite worktop.
The pantry and serving cabinet – both original from 1903 – are painted in a light gray shade.
The smaller bedroom is now used as the master bedroom with light blue walls and a large rug that adds a cozy vibe.
The hallway is fitted with built-in wardrobes which are painted in a light muted green shade.
