A Light Ground Floor Apartment with a Large Terrace
This one-bedroom apartment lies on the ground floor of a turn-of-the-century apartment building in Stockholm. Even though it is a ground-floor apartment, thanks to the higher position of the street, the home has nice views, including those of Lake Mälaren.
The 53 square meter apartment is situated in a corner position, meaning the house has large windows in three directions, creating wonderfully bright interior spaces. The home was carefully renovated in recent years, creating comfortable, contemporary spaces paired with historical elements like creaky wooden floorboards.

The apartment has an open-plan living room and kitchen that runs the entire length of the house. With windows in three directions and glass doors leading to the terrace, the room is wonderfully bright.

The living room walls are painted in a warm, light gray shade, leaving the top border white, which makes the ceiling feel higher.

From the living room, you have access to a 20-square-meter private terrace that receives sunlight almost the entire day. What an excellent extension to the living area!

The apartment has a social floor plan with a wide opening between the kitchen and the living room. The kitchen walls’ light pink hue returns in the living area’s decoration. The white curtain hides built-in wardrobe space.

The kitchen is bright, functional, and stylish. Simple IKEA cabinets are paired with white doors from Superfront and a Carrara marble countertop.

The walls are painted in the light pink hue “Romans” from Beckers.

In the corner by the window facing the Stockholm water, they created a charming dining area with a bench fitted against the wall and a large wooden table.

From the living room, you can access the apartment’s only bedroom that is painted in a deep brown shade, creating a calm and earthy atmosphere.

There is a small niche in the corner (not pictured) which can be used as a wardrobe.

There is an open doorway between the hall and the kitchen. The hall is painted in the same shade as the living room and features wall-mounted storage cabinets.
