Light Rooms and the Original Kitchen in a 1950s Apartment
This light, beige apartment is located on the top floor of a 1950s apartment building southwest of Stockholm. The 54-square-meter apartment features typical 50s-era elements, such as a continuous floor plan and large windows that flood the rooms with natural light.
Stockholm features many nicely preserved midcentury houses, and this apartment also has the typical 50s style, with a Dutch parquet floor, the original kitchen, large windows, and airy rooms despite its modest floor plan.

The living room features the original Dutch parquet floor paired with a soft, light beige hue on the walls. From the large window, you have a nice view of the greenery surrounding the building.

The living room is large enough for a comfortable seating area. The owners marked the sitting area with a jute rug, while the light IKEA sofa is decorated with comfy pillows and a sheepskin rug.

The space in front of the large window is perfect for a large dining table, as it also has a nice connection through an open doorway leading to the kitchen. The midcentury-style dining table can be extended to seat ever more people.

The kitchen is such an inviting space with a nice dining area in the corner, a door leading to the southwest balcony, and plants that bring the outdoors in.

The kitchen is the original one from the 1950s, with white-painted doors, a stainless steel and wood countertop, and simple white backsplash tiles. Under the upper cabinets is a typical Swedish lower cabinet with drawers for flour, sugar, or other smaller items.

The apartment has a sunny kitchen with a rattan bench, a small table, and lots of plants.

Even the space above the doorframe has been used for storage. What a clever way to store wine bottles.

The light beige color scheme continues into the bedroom facing the courtyard. The room is spacious and features five floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes and a desk.

The desk is made of a thick wooden top and a simple drawer cabinet. The red chair adds a nice color pop to the beige space.

The bathroom is designed using blue and white tiles. The IKEA open cabinet is stores everything from towels to make-up.

The apartment is listed for sale at Skandia Mäklarna.
