A London Maisonette with A Light Blue deVOL Kitchen

This charming maisonette home in London has been renovated, adding a new kitchen and an attic space and restoring original features to showcase the history of the Edwardian house.

The 976 sq ft house features bright spaces with bold color accents. The new deVOL kitchen has been painted in a vibrant blue shade and the children’s room is painted bright yellow.

Original features such as egg and dart cornice, picture rails, and sash windows have been carefully stripped back to their turn-of-the-century origins, adding a lovely historical touch to the interior rooms.

I’m starting the home tour in the kitchen because I think this is such a lovely space. The handmade deVOL cabinets are painted in a lovely blue shade paired with Moroccan Zellige backsplash tiles and a Silestone Lagoon worktop.

The made the most of the space by adding a cupboard pantry, open shelving, and a bespoke unit in an original fire space.

The farmhouse sink is by Villeroy and Boch and the solid brass taps are by Perrin and Rowe.

The small living room is painted in ‘Stone Blue’ by Farrow and Ball and features a black fireplace, built-in bookcases, and white shutters.

The small room next to the living room is now a home office with built-in bookcases and a large window overlooking the street.

The hallway is painted in ‘Manor House Grey’.

The children’s bedroom has original bespoke cabinetry and a cast iron fireplace with reclaimed Spanish hearth tiles from Bert and May. The walls are painted in ‘Babouche’ by Farrow and Ball.

The top floor is home to the master bedroom. The room is painted in calm hues and has stripped pitch pine floorboards.

The bathroom is located behind the kitchen. The room is partially lined with handmade glazed tiles in ‘Penguin White’ from an artisan factory based in Portugal. The room has a steel enamel bath by Bette with a shower overhead, the unlacquered solid brass fixtures are by Aston Matthews of Islington.
