Midcentury Furniture & a Dark Blue Bedroom in a 1930s Apartment
On the fourth floor of a 1930s building in Stockholm, lies this lovely one-bedroom apartment with midcentury interiors, a small, deep blue bedroom, and a renovated bathroom.
Original details, such as herringbone parquet, mirrored doors, barred windows, and deep window niches, have been preserved, adding character to the spaces. The high ceilings also create a sense of space in the 48-square-meter apartment.

The living room is spacious with a light gray shade on the walls that highlights the white joinery. The room is decorated in a charming midcentury style, which suits the building period nicely.

The large window with a deep niche offers a nice view of treetops, rooftops, and the sky.

The room features a beautiful herringbone parquet floor, which, when combined with the wooden furniture, creates a warm atmosphere in the space.

An extendable vintage Formica table stands in front of the large window, surrounded by green chairs, adding a nice color pop to the space.

The wall between the living room and the bedroom is adorned with an industrial-style mirror, which reflects the light from the window and makes the room feel larger.

Next to the living room lies the small bedroom that is just big enough for a double bed and wardrobes. The light pink bedding adds a nice light accent to the room, which is painted in a dark hue.

The walls are painted in a soothing dark blue-green shade, including the wardrobes along one wall, making the blend in nicely in the small room. The niches are smartly used for storage and decor as well.

A wide doorway in the living room opens to the kitchen. They are separate spaces, but they connect the kitchen with the living room, creating a social and open floor plan.

The kitchen features a simple design, characterized by gray and white cabinets, a black laminate countertop, and white backsplash tiles. The generous ceiling height is utilized to create ample storage space with cabinets that extend up to the ceiling.

The small bathroom was renovated a couple of years ago, incorporating a stylish industrial design with white tilework, black fittings, and a gray-painted ceiling.

The hall features a clever shoe rack that occupies less space than a traditional one. The walls are painted in a warm pink shade, and the mid-century style that is evident throughout the apartment begins in the hall, where the owners added a beautiful wooden cabinet.
