Muted Gray, Green, and Yellow Walls in a Stockholm Apartment
In Stockholm, we can find this charming one-bedroom apartment painted in muted gray and yellow tones. The creaking herringbone parquet and wooden floor tell you the apartment has a long history, and the sober colors highlight the moldings and original mirror doors.
The apartment has a modest floor plan of 46 square meters, but with windows on both sides and a separate kitchen, it feels homely and spacious enough. The owners used contrasting paint colors, but because they used muted shades of gray/green and yellow, they pair very well together in a calm manner.
The window in the south-west fills the living room with natural light. On the floor lies the original parquet floor which was laid in a herringbone pattern.
The living room is modest in size, but the shelves add storage space without cluttering it with bulky furniture. They’re also a great way to display your favorite art, books, or plants.
The kitchen is small, but practical and they maximized the ceiling height by adding a double row of upper cabinets.
a tiny nook in the kitchen is used as a coffee corner.
As you can often see in old, small Swedish apartments, the bedroom is next to the kitchen, with a glass door dividing the two rooms.
The bedroom is just big enough for a double bed, and the walls are painted in a calm sage green shade.
A tiny desk or vanity table was created in the bedroom, simply by using wooden shelves.
The apartment is small, but the hallway is pretty spacious. From here, you can enter the living room, kitchen, and bathroom, and it also gives access to a built-in closet.
The walls of the hall are painted in a Tuscan yellow color from Toniton, adding a soft but cheerful tone to the entrance of the home.
