Original Character and Grand Rooms in a Swedish Country House
In an open landscape, surrounded by fields and forest, stands a beautiful red wooden country house that has been carefully renovated to showcase its many historical features. The country house was built in the late 19th century and features a classic six-part layout that originated in 17th-century France.
The spacious and bright rooms retain much of their original character while also being updated to prepare them for present-day life. Pearl rafters, wall panels, wide floor and ceiling beams, and mirrored doors are recurring details, and there are also a large number of fireplaces to add coziness to the rooms.
Old houses need a library room, and in this Swedish country house, they created a charming room with dark green painted built-in bookshelves and cabinets surrounding the walls
The other walls are decorated with the “Theorins konditori” wallpaper from Lim & Handtryck.
The living room is situated in the center of the floor plan. The light space is decorated with striped wallpaper, white sofas, and a light pink rug.
The dining room is a cozy space with a large wooden table and blue Baroque wallpaper.
The country-style kitchen was completely renovated using Ikea cabinet frames with gray, mirrored fronts, brass fittings, and worktops made of quartz composite.
The charming room also has paneled walls paired with the ‘Linda Clay’ wallpaper from Sandberg.
Green double doors and a beautiful glass veranda with slatted panes and colored glass welcome you into the home. From here, you enter the central hallway with a classic checkerboard floor.
The upper hall is a gorgeous room with hand-painted walls and wide wooden floorboards.
The master bedroom is a grand room with hand-painted walls, wide floorboards, a fireplace, and double doors leading to the hall.
The second bedroom, now used as a children’s room, also features romantic hand painted walls.
