A Muted Color Palette in a Scandinavian Apartment
This Stockholm apartment is only 52 square meters but thanks to a practical layout and smart storage it houses two bedrooms and a generous open plan living room and kitchen.
The apartment was fully renovated a couple of years ago with the help of interior architect Andreas Farkas. A new kitchen and bathroom were added during the renovation, and the rooms were consistently painted in light and gentle colors, and the original floorboards were whitewashed.
Much care has gone into choosing the right colors and materials. From knobs, color codes, self-designed kitchen shelves, and specially ordered material choices, everything has been thought of to create a warm home. Â
The open plan living room and kitchen is located in the heart of the home. The walls are painted in a calm light gray shade, which is paired with earthy accents on the rug and cushions.
The door between the hallway and the living space has been removed to create a more flowing floorplan.
The kitchen has cabinets from Picky Living which is paired with a marble worktop and backsplash.
The fridge and oven is beautifully integrated into the wall.
The master bedroom is located next to the living room which can be closed of by a pair of industrial glass doors.
The brown curtain adds a warm color tone to the room and hides the wardrobe.
The smaller bedroom is now a children’s room and also features a brown curtain that hides a wardrobe.
The small bathroom is fitted with white subway tiles on the wall and black marble tiles on the floor. The other wall is painted in a moody dark gray shde.
