Binderton House was built around 1680 and renovated in the Georgian style in the late 18th century. Over the years, it has welcomed notable guests and owners, including Anthony Eden (who briefly lived here), Churchill, Eisenhower, and Prince Philip. It is also believed to be the subject of Rex Whistler’s final oil painting.

The skirting boards and ceilings are picked out in Edward Bulmer’s posy-pink ‘Rose’ from this design, creating a cohesive and romantic look.

The en-suite bathroom is elegant and classic with a pink roll-top bath, a double sink, a shower with a built-in seat, Arabescato and Siena marble flooring, and brass fittings by Drummonds.

The second bedroom is decorated in a blue and yellow color scheme. The ‘Boundary’ fabric in ochre extends up its walls to create an embracing tented ceiling, and behind the bed, the geometric ‘Fresco’ indigo linen has been fitted.

Both fabrics that are used in this bedroom are by And Objects for Christopher Farr Cloth. 

The intricate trims are by Samuel & Sons and the bed is flanked by two built-in wardrobes with arched doors.

The second bathroom is designed in a combination of ruddy pink paint, glazed marine-green tiles, and Fornisetti wallpaper.

Directly outside the drawing room, a flagstone terrace is reserved for this apartment’s private use, ideal for summer lunches beneath the trees.
