Playful Materials, Textures, and Colors in a London Home
You may recognize this house as it was previously posted on the blog and became one of my most popular home tours. This semi-detached Victorian house is one of London’s most popular shoot locations, but it has now been listed for sale.
The house combines period features like the original wooden floors, fireplaces, and bay windows with playful materials, textures, and colors, creating a wonderful family home with Mediterranean influences, vintage design, and 70s inspiration.
The living room is divided into two halves. At the front, there is a lovely sitting area with plaster pink walls, a yellow sofa, and tropical fabrics centered around a beautiful fireplace.
The back room is painted in a contrasting dark blue shade, though it features the same pattern on the fabric and wallpaper.
The open-plan kitchen, dining room, and sitting area have been enlarged with two sets of 3m wooden bi-fold doors to the back and side to flood the space with natural light.
The room is ready for entertaining, featuring an elevated kitchen area with bespoke English cabinets finished in Farrow and Ball’s Dix Blue.Â
There’s a natural connection with the back area featuring an ochre yellow sofa and a small dining table.
The master bedroom is a grand space with built-in wardrobes, a vintage dressing table, and a pink freestanding bath in front of the window.
A second double bedroom is painted in soft blue shades. It features built-in wardrobes with cane doors and a vintage cane headboard for a natural element.
The nursery is decorated with the ‘Money Tree in Bamboo’ wallpaper from Poodle and Blonde.
The family bathroom is a stunning space with pink marble tiles, a classic checkerboard floor, and brass fittings.
The garden is a wonderful space. It features a glass-covered side veranda in a bohemian style and multiple seating areas throughout.

The house is listed for sale at Pedder.
