A Small Bright Scandinavian Studio Apartment
This Stockholm studio apartment is only 25 square meters big, but thanks to the light color palette and the generous ceiling height, it looks bright, airy, and inviting. The preserved turn-of-the-century apartment features the original floor, stucco, two tall windows that provide a really nice light, and an exposed brick wall that adds character.Â
Right now, the owners opted for a large double bed and a huge table in front of the window. But thanks to the apartment’s 3-meter ceiling height, you could also add a sleeping loft to open up floor space for a sitting area. The apartment has two built-in wardrobes, so there’s no need to bulk up the room with large storage pieces.
The original pine floorboards and creamy white walls create the perfect light base for the studio home. The two large windows bring in plenty of natural light and offer views of the surrounding Stockholm buildings.
The design is kept simple, and large furniture pieces in a small space create a calmer interior space. On either side of the large table they added storage cabinets.
It’s smart to opt for a seating bench, instead of chairs. You create plenty of seating spaces but chairs will look more cluttered and there’s an unobstructed view out of the windows.
The artworks add bright color accents in the otherwise neutral space.
The apartment has a tiny kitchen with light gray cabinets and a Smeg fridge. The exposed brick walls add character and a nice architectural detail.
