A Small and Bright Two-Bedroom Apartment in Stockholm
In the popular Södermalm neighborhood in Stockholm lies this charming, bright two-bedroom apartment. The apartment is located in a building dating back to 1850, and the interiors are fresh, light, and classic.
The apartment is only 49 square meters, but the owners managed to divide the living room with a glass wall to turn this originally one-bedroom apartment into a two-bedroom apartment. And thanks to the glass partition wall and the bright color scheme, this doesn’t feel cramped.

The original living room is divided in half to create a tiny sitting area and a children’s bedroom. The bright walls, large window, and wooden floor create a cozy ambiance. And even though it is small, there is room for a comfortable sofa, a coffee table, and a wall-mounted television.
The glass partition wall helps to make this room feel spacious and bright. The original room has two large windows and thanks to this glass room divider, natural light doesn’t get blocked.
On one wall, the owners created low and high built-in cabinets to provide plenty of storage space. The low cabinets are also perfect for placing art, lamps, and other personal items to turn this into a personal and charming room.
The space behind the glass partition is turned into a children’s bedroom with a double desk under the window and a bed nook with a blue velvet curtain around the bed so light can come through the window even when the child is sleeping, maintaining a bright space in the living room.
The kitchen was renovated a couple of years ago, creating a bright, classic look with white cabinets, brass fittings, and marble countertops.
A shelf has been placed in front of the window, creating a space to grow herbs.
The owners created a dining nook that can seat up to six people thanks to the built-in bench in the corner.
The bathroom is just as bright, classic, and stylish as the rest of the apartment. A classic marble checkerboard floor lies on the floor, paired with white cabinets and tiles.
The master bedroom overlooks the quiet courtyard and is painted in a calm gray shade. The wall behind the bed is fitted with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes and an old piano is turned into a desk with wooden shelves hanging on the walls.
Despite the apartment’s small size, it has a spacious hall with wallpapered walls and floor-to-ceiling wardrobes, offering a lot of storage space. The owners also added a shoe cabinet to keep it tidy.
The apartment is listed for sale at Fastighetsbyrån.
