Cheerful Color Accents in a One-Bedroom Stockholm Apartment
On the fourth floor of a national romantic building from the early 20th century in Stockholm lies this charming one-bedroom apartment with bright rooms decorated with cheerful color accents.
High ceilings of over three meters, light-colored walls, and large windows make this 43-square-meter apartment feel larger than its actual square meters. With the doors open, light flows in from two directions, creating fresh and inviting spaces and the light colors on the walls are paired with bright color pops like yellow and pink tones.
Original details such as ceiling rosettes, high skirting boards, mullioned skylights, mirrored doors, and mirrored panels in deep window niches have been preserved and paired with timeless material choices.
The apartment has a combined living room and kitchen with two large windows, light wooden floorboards, and walls painted off-white. These neutral tones are combined with cheerful color accents in the art, lighting, and decor.
The kitchen in the corner is simple but effective, with a double row of upper cabinets that provide plenty of storage and classic white subway tiles as a backsplash.
Even more kitchen storage is added on the other wall, paired with vibrant yellow bookshelves.
The entrance arch toward the living room is painted in a charming peachy-pink shade.
On the other side of the hall lies the apartment’s only bedroom, painted in a soft yellow hue that highlights the white-painted joinery and paired with pink and blue bedding, creating a lovely, colorful spot.
One wall is fitted with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with gray doors and brass knobs.
The walls in the hallway are painted in light pink, and the beautiful original joinery is peach pink. The fine mirrored doors are made of pure wood.
Even in the simple bathroom, the owner added color pops. The ceiling is painted in a lovely light blue shade, and a red vanity has been added for a bold color pop.
