A Small Light-Filled Corner Apartment with Original Details
On the top floor of an Art Nouveau building in Stockholm lies this light-filled corner apartment. The apartment has been taken care off wonderfully since its construction and original elements like mirrored doors, chest panels, exposed wooden floors, a working tiled stove, high ceilings, and barred windows have been preserved.
The apartment has a floor size of only 36 square meters but the layout is practical and stylish, with a tiny bedroom just of the living room. There are three large windows in the wall separating the living room and the bedroom, ensuring natural light from the large windows flows throughout the tiny home.

Thanks to the apartment’s corner position, the apartment is wonderfully light. The small living room gets natural light from two directions (thanks to the inner windows).

The apartment beautifully pairs 1920s elements with a contemporary decorating style. The walls are painted with gray egg oil tempera, highlighting the white-painted chest panels.

The small room is bright during the day and at night, the original kakelugn (a Swedish tiled fireplace) can be lighted for a cozy ambiance.

A wall of windows and a sliding door separate the bedroom from the living room.

One side has been fitted with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes.

The bedroom area is tiny (it can accommodate a 120cm bed), but it is bright and offers views of the surrounding rooftops.

The deep window sill can be used for storage and small wooden shelves have been fitted against the wall. With pillows placed against the wall and the windows you can easily transform the bedroom into a cozy reading nook.

The kitchen is pretty spacious for an apartment of this size. There is a charming breakfast area in front of the large window.

The exposed brick wall gives the kitchen character.

The classic white kitchen cabinets are paired with a marble countertop, brass fittings, and white backsplash tiles. I like the combination of closed white cabinets with the open, light wooden shelves.

The hall features a built-in wardrobe as well as a smart wardrobe, coat, and shoe storage system against the wall.

There is a loft area above the entry which is closed off with a curtain. And one wall is decorated in a charming floral wallpaper.
