A Small Vintage Apartment with a Tiny Green Patio Garden
On the ground floor of a midcentury apartment complex in Stockholm lies this charming one-bedroom apartment with a tiny patio garden surrounded by greenery. The 47 square meter apartment features plenty of period details from the year of construction, like built-in wardrobes, a herringbone parquet floor, and kitchen cabinets.
The apartment has a wonderful open floor plan where the hall runs through the center, connecting all rooms. The interiors match the year the house was built, it is decorated with plenty of vintage pieces, creating cozy rooms. But the best part of the house is the tiny patio where you can have breakfast and dinner and grow herbs and vegetables.

The living room is a charming room featuring the original herringbone parquet floor from the 1940s. The wooden floor and furniture add a warm touch to the room.
Though the room isn’t big, there is enough space for a comfortable sitting area and a dining table by the patio doors.
Despite living in central Stockholm, when you look out of the living room windows, you only see greenery.
The small patio garden is the star of this apartment, and it is used as an extra room in the spring and summer months.
The patio is large enough to accommodate a dining area, sun lounger, small sofa, stool, and pots.
Wild vine and ivy surround the patio, creating a lovely secluded and green oasis.
Much of the original cabinets in the kitchen have been preserved, including the slanted upper cabinets and a serving cabinet in the corner.
The two high windows offer a view of Lake Mälaren.
The hall consists of an entrance area and an inner hall. The entrance has a hat rack on one side and original built-in wardrobes on the other. In the inner hall, there are even more original wardrobes, from floor to ceiling, offering plenty of storage space in the small apartment.
The bedroom is turned into a combined master bedroom and nursery. Fabric with the William Morris Pimpernel pattern hangs off the wall to define the nursery area. The terracotta canopy adds a warm touch to the room.
From the bedroom window, you also have a view of Lake Mälaren. In this apartment, you’re surrounded by nature.
