A Soft Color Palette and a Charming Kitchen in a Swedish Apartment
This charming two-bedroom apartment lies on the top floor of a 1920s apartment building in Gothenburg. The 100-year-old apartment features original elements like wooden doors, a pantry, a ceiling rose, barred windows, and tongue-and-groove paneling, which add a lot of character to the home.
There is a wonderful sense of calm in the apartment. The entire home is painted in soft color tones, paired with beautiful wooden floors and hand-blown window glass that reflects the sunlight in a beautiful way.

We’re starting the tour in the kitchen. The spacious room has a large window facing the courtyard and there is plenty room space for a large dining table.
The kitchen has a classic design with dark gray cabinet doors paired with brass knobs. Two walls feature tongue-and-groove paneling painted in Jotun’s ‘Cheese Cake’ hue, a soft buttery-yellow color that adds a touch of sunshine to the interiors.
The wall behind the sink and the cooker is fitted with classic white subway tiles that reach the ceiling.
In the corner of the room, you can find an original pantry. The wooden floorboards are also original to the house and treated with a white pigment.
On the other side of the hall lies the spacious living room with wooden floors and a large barred window facing a quiet tree-lined street.
The walls in the living room are painted in Jotun’s “Blekvide” color, a lovely light green hue with a golden undertone.
From the living room, you can access the master bedroom.
The bedroom is a calm space with walls painted in Jotun’s “Blekvide” (the same green hue as the living room walls), and the original floorboards are treated with a white pigment.
One wall is fitted with wardrobes painted in Jotun’s “Lagerträd”.
From the master bedroom, a small passageway with a door to the bathroom leads you to the second bedroom which is now a charming children’s room.
The walls are painted in a charming blue-gray shade and a ledge has been added by the bed that can be used as a display shelf or a nightstand.
The bathroom was renovated a couple of years ago, adding Italian floor tiles laid in a herringbone pattern and classic white tiles on the walls by Byggfabriken.
The hall is painted in Jotun’s “Kryddgrönt” color.
