A Swedish Duplex with a Unique Wood and Pastel Colored Kitchen
An early 20th-century villa just outside Stockholm is home to four apartments, one of which is today’s home and has a unique kitchen. The apartment is located on the ground and basement floors of the villa and has access to a green communal garden.
The 78-square-meter apartment has two bedrooms, but what stands out the most is the site-built kitchen with warm wooden cabinets paired with pastel-colored fronts. The charm from the turn of the century is also visible in the house as it showcases preserved original details such as moldings and mirrored doors. This, in combination with the green setting of the building, creates a wonderful home.
I’m starting the house tour in the kitchen, as this room instantly caught my eye. The kitchen has a midcentury vibe, with warm wooden frames and a backsplash paired with a variety of cabinets with pastel-colored fronts.
The closed cabinets are complemented by open shelves that give the kitchen a lively impression.
The kitchen has plenty of space for a dining table next to a wood burner that is surrounded by blue and gray tiles.
The apartment’s living room and kitchen are one space with a semi-open floor plan with fantastic light from windows in three directions.
The living space is small but it has everything you need including a wall with built in cabinets.
The master bedroom is located on the ground floor and has walls that are painted in a pale green shade.
The apartment has two bathrooms. The bathroom on the ground floor was recently renovated with black and white Victorian tiles on the floor paired with white subway tiles in the shower and white walls.
The basement floor is home to the second bedroom which is now a spacious children’s room with half painted teal blue walls and access to the garden.
