A Swedish Family House with Wall Murals and Art
There is a fun and laid-back atmosphere in this terraced house in Sweden. The natural interiors are spruced up with a huge black-and-white mural in the living room and a white mural on an earthy wall in the bedroom.
The 102-square-meter family house was built in the 1950s and still features midcentury elements and layout. The hallway opens into a dining room with a checkerboard floor and the original midcentury kitchen. The light living room has a partially wooden ceiling and a staircase leading to the first floor, giving the sitting room an airy feeling.
The living room features a beautiful mural by artist Alexandra Karpilovski.
The living room is decorated in a calm atmosphere with light colors tones, plants, a large tufted rug, and the original fireplace in the corner that adds warmth and period charm to the room.
The open staircase in the living room adds a sense of space to the room.
The dining room is located between the hall and the living room. Like the hallway, it has a period-typical linoleum floor painted in a checkerboard pattern.
On the right is the hallway with built-in closets, and straight ahead is the kitchen.
The 50’s-style kitchen has site-built cabinets and the same checkerboard floor as in the dining room.
The master bedroom is located on the first floor. The plaster walls are painted in a terracotta shade and feature organic painting work.
The second bedroom on the first floor is now a children’s room decorated with the ‘Apelviken’ wallpaper from Swedish artist Hannah Wendelbo.
