A Tiny Apartment Filled with Books and a Midcentury-Style Kitchen
This small apartment in Stockholm is only 28 square meters, but it is so charming you must see it. The apartment is located in a unique housing block with terraced houses and a private entrance with a small terrace. On one side, you have a view of the park and the lake and on the other side is a shared patio garden.
The tiny apartment was completely renovated in recent years. The entire home has a light oak parquet floor, a custom-built kitchen in a midcentury style was added, and walls are lined with bookshelves.
Despite the small size, the apartment has a separate living room, kitchen, and bedroom. The living room features a large window and a French balcony, creating a light atmosphere. And with all that greenery outside, it is hard to imagine you live close to central Stockholm.
One wall is fitted with bookshelves, creating a charming reading corner with a comfortable armchair and a vintage rug.
A beautiful antique writing desk stands in the corner by the balcony door. A vintage Markslöjd floor lamp in a romantic pink shade stands in the corner.
The walls are painted in a soft light yellow shade, adding to the cheerful atmosphere in the room.
The bookshelves are fitted around the open doorway to the kitchen. The light oak parquet floor has a Dutch joint.
The bookshelves have a lovely curved detail at the end.
The architect-designed kitchen is functional and stylish. It is designed in a midcentury style with slanted upper cabinets and an extra row of cabinets to maximize storage space.
The cabinets have doors and drawers in ash veneer painted in a light lime blossom green color, paired with a stainless steel kitchen countertop and white Höganäs backsplash tiles.
The kitchen lies next to the teeny-tiny entrance hall with terracotta floor tiles and a small niche for coat and shoe storage.
The apartment has a charming bedroom with a window facing the private patio garden. The walls are decorated in Josef Frank’s wallpaper “Sunday Morning” and paired with antique furniture.
Bookshelves have been fitted on the upper part of all walls in the bedroom.
