William Morris Wallpapers and Period Features in a Gothenburg Apartment
This charming two-bedroom apartment is situated in a picturesque turn-of-the-century building in a quiet area of Gothenburg, Sweden. It’s a wonderful light home thanks to large windows in two directions, and it has a nice flowing floor plan.
The 77-square-meter apartment features original elements from the beginning of the 20th century, including a tiled fireplace, a generous ceiling height, stucco, ceiling rosettes, and beautiful wooden floors.

In the living room and the bedroom, the period features are paired with beautiful wallpapers from William Morris.

The sitting room is situated in a semi-open floor plan with the kitchen, creating a social layout while still maintaining cozy, separate spaces.

Natural light shines into the living room through the two large windows. The room has an original fireplace in the corner, adding historic charm and warmth in the colder months.

The walls in the living room are decorated with William Morris ‘Honeysuckle’ wallpaper. The pink tones from the wallpaper continue into the light pink sofa for a harmonious look.

Next to the living room lies a charming kitchen. It is modest in size, but floor-to-ceiling cabinets along one wall add plenty of storage space, and there is room for a dining table.

The kitchen is designed in a style that matches the apartment’s building period. The green hue of the cabinets matches the wallpaper in the living room.

The master bedroom paired dark-painted floorboards with the Willow Bough wallpaper by William Morris and bedding in light pink and beige hues.

The room has a nice curved wall thanks to its location next to the central staircase.

A former doorway between the bedroom and the living room has been turned into a built-in bookcase.

The second bedroom features the same dark-painted floorboards, which are paired with white walls and natural-toned fabrics.

The room also gives access to the apartment’s courtyard balcony.

One wall is fitted with built-in wardrobes with sliding doors.

The bathroom is a neat and calm space with wood-like tiles and a walk-in shower.
