A Mountain Sanctuary Above the Tetons with a Luxurious Officine Gullo Kitchen

Perched atop a remote butte overlooking the dramatic peaks of the Teton Range, this extraordinary Jackson Hole residence feels less like a house and more like a quiet conversation with the landscape.

Conceived as a mountain retreat for Miami-based homeowners, the residence is discreetly embedded into the slope, allowing architecture, interiors, and nature to exist in harmonious balance.

From the moment of arrival, the home reveals itself as a study in restraint and refinement. Expansive walls of glass frame uninterrupted views stretching across the Tetons and toward Yellowstone National Park, transforming the ever-changing landscape into a living artwork.

Every room has been carefully orchestrated to maintain a connection to the outdoors, creating an atmosphere that is both immersive and serene.

Designed by the renowned interior design studio WRJ Design, founded by Rush Jenkins and Klaus Baer, the residence embodies a sophisticated interpretation of contemporary Western living.

Rustic influences drawn from Wyoming’s rugged beauty are thoughtfully paired with contemporary forms, museum-worthy furnishings, and finely curated details. The result is a home that feels deeply rooted in place while remaining timeless and cosmopolitan.

The great room serves as the social heart of the residence. Here, a sculptural Lindsey Adelman chandelier floats above a bespoke dining table by Vincenzo De Cotiis, creating a dramatic focal point against the backdrop of the mountains beyond.

Nearby, a Vladimir Kagan sofa and walnut coffee table anchor the living area, where curated artworks and sculptural objects introduce layers of texture, personality, and visual intrigue.

Despite its sophisticated aesthetic, the home was conceived first and foremost as a place to be lived in. “It’s a Zen space, an incredible sanctuary of peace and calm,” says Rush Jenkins. Yet the residence is equally designed to accommodate family life, welcoming children, grandchildren, friends, and even the owners’ beloved Yorkshire terriers.

This balance between elegance and livability lies at the core of WRJ Design’s philosophy, and nowhere is it more evident than in the kitchen.

Positioned at the heart of the home, the kitchen was envisioned as both a high-performance culinary workspace and an inviting gathering place.

Developed in close collaboration with the homeowner, an accomplished cook with a longstanding connection to Italy, the space demanded a level of craftsmanship and functionality that could match its striking setting.

For this pivotal room, WRJ Design partnered with Officine Gullo, the Florentine luxury kitchen maker renowned for blending professional-grade performance with exceptional artisanal craftsmanship.

“It’s the most sophisticated, chic celebration of ingenuity and beauty, inspired by historical Italian kitchens,” Jenkins explains.

The resulting kitchen is a fully bespoke composition that seamlessly integrates contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship. At its center is a custom Officine Gullo range paired with a statement hood, creating a commanding focal point within the space.

A solid-wood butcher-block meat cart adds warmth and practicality, while a striking wood-fired pizza oven clad in custom metal detailing pays homage to the homeowner’s passion for authentic cooking.

Every element has been carefully considered to support both performance and aesthetics. Steam and multifunction oven claddings, integrated refrigeration and freezer units, a wine cooler, wine dispenser, and refined sink fittings work together to create a cohesive culinary environment where functionality never compromises beauty.

Crafted from noble materials including brass and steel, the Officine Gullo components exemplify the brand’s signature balance between technological innovation and artisanal tradition.

Warm metallic finishes interact elegantly with the surrounding palette of wood and stone, echoing the natural colors and textures of the Wyoming landscape beyond the windows. The result is a kitchen that feels both luxurious and grounded

Throughout the residence, WRJ Design demonstrates a masterful understanding of how architecture and interiors can enhance a remarkable setting without competing with it.

Every space celebrates the grandeur of the Tetons while fostering a sense of comfort, intimacy, and calm. The home’s furnishings, materials, and artworks have been selected not only for their beauty but also for their ability to create meaningful experiences and lasting memories.

Set high above the valley, the residence embraces both openness and permanence, pairing expansive glazing with a rich palette of stone, steel, and timber.

Sweeping views of the Teton Range, the valley floor, and the Sleeping Indian become an integral part of daily life, while the home’s materiality anchors it firmly within its rugged setting.

Rather than imposing a singular structure upon the landscape, the design emerged from a careful reading of the site itself. Through a close collaboration between the architectural, interior, and landscape teams, the residence was conceived as a collection of interconnected pavilions that gently weave into the terrain.

Low-slung rooflines and substantial stone walls settle naturally into the hillside, while generous north-facing windows dissolve the boundary between indoors and out.
