Natural Tones and Original Elements in a 1930s Apartment
This two-bedroom apartment in the Swedish city of Malmö has been carefully renovated, preserving original elements like the wooden floorboards and parquet floor as well as the charming 1930s kitchen.
The apartment perfectly blends modern comforts with original features. The color palette is serene with off-white and beige walls paired with earthy textiles and dark stained floorboards, adding lots of warmth to the interiors.

The apartment has a semi-open living space with a seating area in the front and a dining room in the center of the apartment. Both rooms feature a dark-stained original herringbone parquet floor.

The white walls are paired with brown-colored textiles, creating a warm yet light atmosphere.

The dining room sits between the living room and the master bedroom. It also has access to the hall connecting to the kitchen. Both the living room and the dining room have an original ceiling rosette, showing the almost 100-year history of the apartment.

The kitchen was carefully renovated, and great importance was placed on recreating old details. The walls and cabinets are painted in Jotun’s ‘White Tea.’

The kitchen cabinets with tick locks are paired with a dark wooden countertop. There is a double row of upper cabinets, maximizing storage space, and the shelf above the worktop is perfect for displaying your favorite glassware.

The master bedroom is located next to the kitchen and can be accessed via the dining room. It is simply decorated with a dark stained floor and wooden IKEA wardrobes.

The second bedroom is located next to the living room. The earthy room is now a second sitting room with open cabinets and earthy curtains.

The entry hall is designed in an open layout with the dining area, creating more space. On the left is space for coats and shoes, and the room also has an original built-in wardrobe.
The apartment is listed for sale at Norban.
