An Art Nouveau Apartment with a Deep Green Kitchen
This two-bedroom apartment lies on the second floor of a typical yellow-plastered early 20th-century Art Nouveau building in the popular Midsommarkransen area, just south of central Stockholm.
The apartment has a very cozy atmosphere thanks to the wooden floorboards, deep window niches, and the two traditional Swedish fireplaces. In addition, the home was carefully renovated in recent years, and they added architect-designed storage solutions that are stylish and smart.

The apartment has a large open-plan living space with two large windows facing the park. It is a space that is perfect for dinner parties and socializing.

The kitchen stands on one side of the room. Deep green cabinets are paired with a black granite countertop and white backsplash tiles that run to the ceiling.

The mahogany-veneered boat plywood shelves are recycled from the 1960s, which adds character and warmth to the kitchen.

On the other side of the room, there is a comfortable sitting area with a traditional kakelugn (a tiled fireplace) in the corner, adding historic charm to the space.

The apartment has deep window niches, typical of historic homes. The deep niche in the right window could easily be transformed into an amazing home office.

The master bedroom is a large room with windows facing the park. The walls are painted in a gentle blue-gray shade, adding a soft and calm atmosphere to the room, which is perfect for sleeping.

An architect-designed, site-built wardrobe wall runs along one side of the room, with Ikea frames inside and white-glazed plywood on the outside. In the middle of this is a smart, fold-out workstation.

The master bedroom also features a traditional Swedish fireplace.

The second bedroom is now a charming children’s room with the same wall color as the master bedroom and a window facing the lush courtyard.

The hall connects all the rooms in the house. It has a nice half-painted wall with the lower half painted in a muted blue-gray shade, and the upper half is white. There are floating cabinets fitted against the wall, and there is also an original built-in wardrobe for even more storage space.
