A Cheerful Color Palette in an Early 20th Century Villa in Stockholm
In a charming residential area south of the city center of Stockholm lies this 100-year-old villa with a sunny yellow living room, a 1950s kitchen, and a large garden.
The house has been well looked after, and since the current owners moved in, it has been regularly renovated. Some original elements have been preserved, like the circular floor plan, site-built storage, and joinery.

The living spaces on the ground floor are decorated with plenty of color. The space features a range of colors, from the sunny yellow walls in the living room to the green dining space, and light yellow cabinets and a checkered floor in the kitchen.

The sitting room is a cheerful space with windows in two directions. The warm, sunny yellow hue on the walls pairs beautifully with the light wooden floor, and the blue sofa, floral armchair, and colorful textiles add even more color to the inviting space.

The room is centered around a charming white fireplace that was installed 10 years ago.

The living spaces have a semi-open floor plan. Wide openings between the spaces create a social layout without losing the feeling of distinctive rooms.

The dining room is painted green, and painted built-in bookshelves have been fitted along three walls.

The kitchen is a colorful blast from the past. The 1950s cabinets are well-preserved and painted in a nice yellow hue. The green and white checkerboard floor adds even more color to the space. The colors harmonize nicely with the colors used in the living and dining room.

In the corner is space for a vintage Formica kitchen table paired with a black wooden bench, tongue-and-groove paneling, and bookshelves.

The hall is divided into two areas: a glass veranda and an inner hall that has been painted in a nice green hue.

You first enter the home in the glass veranda with tiles on the floor and a light gray hue on the walls paired with a yellow floral wallpaper.

A green painted staircase leads you to the first floor where the landing has been turned into a cozy reading nook.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor. The largest room is painted in a light gray hue and features original built-in wardrobes.

The beautiful vintage vanity table with floral textiles suits the history of the house beautifully.

The bathroom paired turquoise tiles with a classic Victorian-style floor.

In the basement, there is room for two more bedrooms as well as a cheerful washroom with sunny yellow tiles.

The garden is a lovely space with a paved patio closest to the house. A few steps down leads to a large grassy area.

The garden features several fruit trees such as apple, cherry, and pear trees. Bushes with currants, gooseberries, and blackberries as well as colorful elements such as rhododendron, magnolia, azalea, roses, and peonies
