IKEA’s New Ilse Crawford Table Lamps Offer Timeless Designs for an Affordable Price
IKEA has once again teamed up with British designer Ilse Crawford to introduce the HALGATT table lamp, a new lighting collection that combines timeless materials with thoughtful design at an affordable price.
The launch marks the latest chapter in a creative partnership that began more than a decade ago with the much-loved SINNERLIG collection.
Designed to create warm, inviting interiors, the HALGATT collection features two table lamps that reinterpret the classic lamp silhouette through Crawford’s signature focus on comfort, natural materials, and understated elegance.

“When I design lamps, I want them to bring warmth and life to a room. The challenge is to capture a classic’s qualities, the right proportions, choice of materials, and shade, and a timelessness that makes the lamp always feel relevant.
My inspiration for HALGATT comes from how we live our lives. They have a versatility that supports the decor rather than dominating it, and are just as suitable in the living room as in a dining room, a bedroom, or a work area,” says Ilse Crawford.
Although both lamps share the same design philosophy, they each offer a distinct expression. One features a sculptural square base crafted from white stoneware, creating a clean architectural look with a monochromatic finish.

The other takes a more traditional approach with a cylindrical ceramic base finished in a rich dark glaze, paired with a beige linen lampshade and a brass dimmer that adds both warmth and functionality.

According to Chiara Ripalti, Lighting Product Developer at IKEA, the goal was to create two complementary designs using classic materials and earthy tones.

“We wanted to offer two expressions of the same idea, with classic materials and earthy tones. One took a more distinctive shape, balanced with a tone-on-tone palette. The other is a more traditional cylinder, given depth through its rich, dark glaze. Both unmistakably carry the signature of Ilse, at a price that puts it within reach.”
The collection brings together tactile ceramics, woven linen shades in natural tones, and brass dimmers that allow users to easily adjust the atmosphere from bright task lighting to a softer, ambient glow.

Ilse Crawford believes the lamps are designed to remain beautiful whether switched on or off: “In my view, good interiors are well-lived-in spaces because they reflect and support the people who live there. But without them being lit, the lamps will continue to be equally aesthetically appealing because they are designed so beautifully,” says Ilse Crawford.
HALGATT arrives eleven years after the debut of SINNERLIG, the groundbreaking collaboration that established Crawford’s relationship with IKEA.
The original collection remains one of IKEA’s most enduring designer partnerships, with the SINNERLIG pendant lamp continuing to be one of the most popular pieces in the IKEA range.
The HALGATT table lamps will be available at IKEA stores worldwide, with launch dates and pricing varying by market.
