A Calm and Contemporary Apartment in a Former Office Space
You won’t believe it when you see the pictures of this apartment, but this home is a new creation that was finished in November 2024. The apartment is located in a former office space that has been transformed into a beautiful apartment where contemporary finishes are paired with historical details.
The apartment is located in a turn-of-the-century building in Sweden’s second city of Gothenburg. Everything in the apartment is new, from the floors to the kitchen and the bathroom, but the historic bones of the building give the home a charm that you won’t find in new builds.

The big arched window with deep window sills shows the history of the building. The large window floods the room with natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The walls in the living room are painted in the soft ‘Summer Snow’ by Jotun, which is paired with earthy textures, a wide oak parquet floor, and a large rug.

On one side of the room stands a fantastic midcentury desk with bookshelves. I’m very envious of this furniture piece.

The apartment has an open layout, so you can look all the way to the living room in the kitchen. The new kitchen from Balingslöv has classic beige cabinets and a gray laminate countertop that imitates stone.

The angled walls in the kitchen create the perfect spot for a round dining table, making this a wonderfully social room. The kitchen also gives access to a small balcony.

The master bedroom is located next to the living room and features the same arched window as that room. The calm space has walls painted in the muted green shade ‘Summer Rain’ by Jotun.

The niche in the bedroom offers plenty of room for wardrobes and you can create built-in wardrobes in this niche.

The second bedroom lies next to the kitchen. It is a generous room with walls painted in ‘Summer Snow’, a cork desk, and wardrobes.

The bathroom is designed in a minimalistic and luxurious style. The room features a freestanding bath from Vaulen, floor and wall tiles in a marble look, a dark oak vanity, and a separate shower.

The classic hall sits between the living room and kitchen. The floor is tiled with Bricmate tiles in green charcoal marble and Glanshammer White. The walls are painted in the same color as the living room; ‘Summer Snow’.

The apartment is listed for sale at Stadshem.
