A Charming Historic Home with Views of the Lake
After only a short drive from Sweden’s capital city, Stockholm, you enter a world of woods, lakes, and country houses. And today, I’m welcoming you into this secluded turn-of-the-century country house with views of the lake.
The country house was built in 1890 and recently renovated to create a perfect blend of history and contemporary elegance. The house is surrounded by a lush garden, and the forest, lake, and meadows are the closest neighbors.
The rooms are all renovated but they breathe history thanks to the muted color palette, exposed wooden beams, and original features like those beautiful doors you see in this picture.
The ground floor has two sitting rooms. This room has a beautiful fireplace and one wall features a lovely mural.
The kitchen is exactly how you want a country kitchen to look. Green cabinets are painted with brass handles and ochre yellow window frames. A stone floor runs underfoot and the walls are paneled.
In the corner of the room stands the original kitchen stove.
One of the bedrooms is decorated with the ‘Corail’ wallpaper from Jean Paul Gaultier.
The house is listed for sale at Urban by ESNY.
