A Classic Studio Apartment with an Industrial Glass Room Divider
On the second floor of a turn-of-the-century apartment building in Stockholm lies this gorgeous studio apartment with moody gray-blue walls and a separate kitchen. Despite being a studio apartment, the small home is clearly divided into living, sleeping, and cooking space without losing an open feeling.
The main room of the 43 square meter apartment has been divided by a steel and glass wall, a smart way to divide a space without losing natural light or an open feeling. The owners opted for a dark gray-blue shade on the walls in the main room, a daring choice in a small room, but it looks very classy, especially paired with the antique art on the walls.
Original elements of the turn-of-the-century home have been preserved, like the wooden floor, high baseboard, and stucco. This is paired with a classic gray-blue wall color and a combination of contemporary and antique furnishings, creating a classy interior.
The angled wall in the studio is fitted with bookcases, painted in the same color as the wall to make them blend in—a good tip for when you want to add bookshelves in a small space.
The main room only has one modest-sized window, so a glass room divider was needed to maintain the light throughout the room.
Behind the glass wall, the owners created a spacious sleeping nook with an antique nightstand and art.
The bedroom area is fitted with gray-painted wardrobes.
The studio has a separate kitchen with a balcony, so this apartment is also ideal for having friends over. The kitchen is decorated with the Honeysuckle wallpaper from William Morris.
The small kitchen is designed in a classic style with white cabinets, a gray countertop, and brass fittings. Original built-in cabinets add extra storage to the small space.
There is plenty of space for a generous round dining table in front of the balcony doors. The balcony also extends the living space in the warmer months.
The hallway, painted in the same color as the main room, is also fitted with wardrobes to create extra storage space.
The apartment is listed for sale at Widerlöv Fastighetsmäklare.
