A Green Kitchen in a Gray Family Apartment
On the top floor of a historic apartment complex in Stockholm, you are welcomed by a beautiful family apartment with two sitting rooms, original details, and high ceilings.
The current owner lived in one apartment on the top floor and in 2022, they bought the neighboring home to create one big family apartment. This merger gives the home a unique layout with two living rooms and two bathrooms.
There are several original features in the late 19th century apartment such as the original wooden floor, moldings (supplemented by imitation style moldings), doors, and window panels. And while the majority of the house is decorated in muted color tones, the kitchen has been turned into a vibrant room with green cabinets.
The main living room is an inviting room with walls painted in a muted gray-green color which is paired with colorful textiles.
The room also features on of the original fireplaces in the corner.
The high ceilings in the kitchen have been used fully to provide plenty of storage space. The kitchen cabinets are painted in a dark green shade paired with a wooden worktop and copper faucet.
The second sitting room is now used as a television room. The walls are painted in ‘Ulla’ by Little Greene and this room also features an original kitchen cabinet from the dismantled second apartment kitchen.
The room features on old porch window in the inner wall.
The smallest room in the house, next to the television room, is now a charming children’s room with angled walls painted in ‘Ulla’ by Little Greene.
The master bedroom is a grand space with large built-in wardrobes and access to a spacious balcony.
The master bedroom also features an original fireplace which is the perfect spot for a cozy seating area.
The third bedroom is painted in North Brink Grey by Little Green.
