A Light Two-Bedroom Attic Apartment in Sweden
The top floor of an apartment building dating from 1937 has been turned into a light and modern attic apartment with a pitched ceiling, dormer windows, and two bedrooms.
An attic apartment can quickly be dark and uncomfortable, but this Swedish apartment is bright and airy thanks to big windows and a high-pitched ceiling with characteristic wooden beams. The two bedrooms are both fitted with built-in wardrobes to maximize the limited floor plan.
Large windows, glass walls, and skylights turn this attic space into a wonderfully light home. The sitting area is both light and cozy, thanks to a large fluffy rug and furniture made of natural materials and natural colors.
The living room and kitchen are located in one big open-plan space. The white kitchen is stylish and functional, with a large island with a breakfast bar and floor-to-ceiling cabinets that provide plenty of storage.
A specially architect-designed staircase is an eye-catcher in this apartment and gives access to a small loft space that can be a guest bedroom or a cozy reading nook.
The largest bedroom can easily accommodate a double bed and the dormer is turned into a small home office.
One wall is fitted with a combination of wardrobes and bookshelves.
The second bedroom shares the same color palette with a gray accent wall and a white slanted ceiling. This room also has built-in wardrobes and a desk in front of the window separating the room from the living space.
