A Turn-of-the-Century Apartment with a Dark Blue Bedroom – Revisited
When you have been stalking real estate sites for years, like I have, you sometimes come across a house or apartment you’ve seen before. In this case, I also made a blog post about this apartment with a dark blue bedroom, and almost four years later, we’re revisiting this lovely apartment.
The old and new owners of this turn-of-the-century apartment in Stockholm’s Södermalm area love blue, as we can see in the blue kitchen and the dark blue bedroom. The 57-square-meter apartment features an open-plan living space, original pine floorboards, and a wonderful moody bedroom with plenty of storage space.
The living room is a wonderfully light space with light gray walls, an original fireplace, and access to the balcony.
The open connection with the kitchen helps to create a social and spacious floor plan with plenty of room for a large dinner table.
The kitchen is designed in a timeless shaker style with dark blue painted cupboards, a wooden countertop, a butler sink, and classic white tiles that run up to the ceiling.
Floor-to-ceiling cabinets with integrated appliances are fitted against the wall, separating the living room and kitchen. This way, these bulky cabinets are out of sight and create a more spacious-looking kitchen space from the living room.
The bedroom is painted in a classic dark blue shade, but thanks to the large windows, the room isn’t dark.
One wall is fitted with floor to ceilings wardrobes, adding plenty of storage space.
The apartment features a spacious hallway, painted in a light gray hue and fitted with built in cabinets.
