A Victorian Home in London Remodeled by Mark Lewis
Mark Lewis is an interior designer who mainly focuses on renovating Victorian and Georgian homes and when you step into a home designed by Mark Lewis you can feel the history of the home all around you.
Besides respecting the history of a building he also like to use upcycled materials which you can also see in his own family home in Highgate, London. The cladding behind the toilet used to be kitchen floorboards and the tiles on the floor were salvaged.
But my favourite room is the kitchen/living area. He removed the second floor bedroom and bath to create a loft-like kitchen area with double height ceiling and church-like windows looking into the garden.
I love it when old buildings are remodeled in such a loving way and with so much attention to detail.
