A Black Cottage in Iceland Decorated in Dark Grey Tones

The Nordroom - A Dark Grey Cottage in Iceland

With an extinct vulcano in the backyard and the North Atlantic sea on the other side this black cottage is part of a majestic scenery. The owners - Rut Káradóttir & Kristinn Arnarson loved the historic black cottages in Iceland that are no longer ‘in style’. So when they decided to built a vacation home an hour outside Reykjavik they chose to built a modern version of the traditional black cottage. Inside the cottage is decorated in warm dark grey hues combined with natural wood and warm textures. It’s a nice contrast with the cold snowy climate outside and I can imagine it might be difficult to leave this place for the city again.
