Bold Colors and High Ceilings in a London Duplex Apartment
This spacious one-bedroom apartment is located on the garden and upper ground floor of a London building. The interiors are characterized by high ceilings, an eclectic palette of materials, and bold color pops.
The large 1,100 sq feet apartment, designed by EG Studio Design, is flanked by two outdoor spaces, and the generous windows flood the high-ceilinged rooms with natural light. The white walls and chevron wooden floor form a classic base that is paired with a wonderful blend of furniture and colors.

The front door opens directly into the grand open-plan living space with high ceilings, exposed steel beams, and concrete pillars. Natural light floods into the space, lighting the warm chevron floor.
The sitting area is located at the front of the house with timber-framed glazed doors that open to one of two outdoor spaces.
Thanks to the split level floor plan, the kitchen is partly hidden from view.
The kitchen sits at one end of the living area and features yellow painted floorboards and zellige tiles in a white and ochre checkerboard pattern as the backsplash. The kitchen is designed with a reclaimed marble countertop and a salvaged oak and burl wood upper cabinet.
At the back of the apartment is a second sitting area with inky blue painted floorboards. The area can be closed off with floor-to-ceiling curtains.
The lower floor also has a bathroom with black veined marble tiles.
The apartment’s only bedroom is on the upper floor. It has an en suite bathroom separated from the bedroom by an ochre yellow velvet curtain. When the curtain is opened, natural light comes into the bedroom from two directions.
There is more color in the bathroom, with lovely red and white geometric tiles and a pink stool.
The apartment is listed for £800,000 at The Modern House.
