A Charming Midcentury Apartment with Original Features
On the top floor of a 1940s apartment building in Stockholm lies this charming one-bedroom apartment with plenty of period features and an inviting color scheme inspired by the wallpaper in the hall.
The apartment has preserved its period charm thanks to the original kitchen cabinets, doors, wardrobes, and windows. The interiors suit the architecture of the building; midcentury furniture pieces are paired with warm textiles, creating cozy and inviting rooms.

The living room is a charming space facing the green courtyard. The walls are painted in a warm beige shade, paired with warm orange and yellow decor.
It feels as if you live amid nature thanks to the view of the treetops. The living room also opens up to a balcony where you can fully enjoy the greenery.
The original double glass doors separate the living room from the hall.
The spacious hall is decorated with the William Morris ‘Honeysuckle’ wallpaper. The color tones in this wallpaper inspired the colors used in the apartment.
The charming kitchen is original to the house, featuring the original cabinets, including the characteristic slanted upper cabinets and a REDA shelf under the upper cabinets.
The green cupboards are paired with classic white tiles and a countertop made of stainless steel and laminate.
There is enough room for a generous dining table by the window facing the street.
Next to the bedroom lies the apartment’s only bedroom, which is painted in a pleasant forest green shade. The room has original built-in wardrobes.
A second hall that gives access to the bathroom is painted in a light pink shade, similar to the color you find in the wallpaper.
