Color, Pattern, and Textures in a Renovated London Townhouse
A two-bedroom end-of-terrace Georgian house in Stepney Green in London has been carefully reimagined by its current owners, adding interiors filled with color, pattern, and textures.
During the renovation, the owners added bespoke storage and joyful details that pair beautifully with the historic character of the London townhouse. The house is divided over three floors and it has its own garden.

Via the front door, you immediately step into the open-plan living room which is divided into a front and a back room.

The smaller back room is turned into a charming home office with a rustic desk, a large window overlooking the garden, and a wall made of bespoke shelving and a charming reading bench.

With windows in two directions and wall painted in the soothing ‘James White’ by Farrow and Ball, the room feels fresh and light and make the reinstated cornicing shine. The light walls are paired with a beautiful chevron parquet floor.

As mentioned, the front door opens directly into the living room but the owners added a curtain so it can be hidden from view.

The basement floor is home to a charming kitchen made from deVOL and Plain English cabinets paired with terracotta hexagon floor tiles.

The deVOL Haberdasher cabinets are topped with a patinated copper worktop.

On the other side, they created a open scullery-style space with sage green cabinets from Plain English paired with a fluted butler sink and marble countertops reclaimed from a manor house in Shropshire.

The staircase is painted in ‘Cook’s Blue’ by Farrow and Ball.

The house has two bedrooms. The master bedroom is decorated with a blue striped wallpaper from Galerie Wallcoverings. Large mirrors reflect the light from the blue sash window and make the modest room feel larger.

The room is fitted with charming curved wardrobes painted in ‘French Blue’ by Edward Bulmer, with gold hardware fittings from Matilda Goad.

The second bedroom is a charming nursery with walls painted in ‘Dimity’ and the joinery painted in ‘Red Earth’ by Farrow and Ball.

A charming bathroom sits between the two bedrooms with Porcelain Superstore tiles, blue wall paneling and cupboards, and a marble topped sink. A decorative arch gives access to the shower. It is small, but very pretty and functional.

The house has a garden surrounded by the original stock-brick walls with two terraces and evergreen plants.

Checkerboard tiled steps lead to the front door painted in a pea-green shade by Little Greene.

The house is listed for £925,000 at Inigo.
