A deVOL Sebastian Cox Kitchen in a 17th Century Barn House
David and Alistair have transformed an old barn building in the Suffolk countryside into a warm and inviting home. Much care and attention went into renovating this countryside building. The original rural charm has been preserved and brought back to life in a time consuming and careful renovation proces.
For their kitchen design, they turned to deVOL Kitchens and in particular, the Sebastian Cox cupboards that look right at home in this space. The kitchen is located at the end of the barn in the former milking parlor. And with a brick floor and exposed wooden beams the room was packed with charm and character.
The design of the kitchen is kept simple with a kitchen island and cabinets against the wall. No upper cabinets are added to the kitchen to let the historic architecture of the space really shine.
The kitchen island is four meters long and provides plenty of storage space. On the other side, the island can also be used as a breakfast bar.
The kitchen cabinets are painted in deVOL’s “natural” and “Inky Blue Black” color shades. Two natural shades that compliment each other very well.
The old structure of the former barn really shows on this wall. The combination of brick and wood is simply spectacular. The minimalistic but natural kitchen cabinets of the Sebastian Cox range are perfect in combination with such a historic structure.
The original brick floor gives the kitchen that charming English country kitchen atmosphere.
The woodburner in the corner provides a cozy seating area in this country kitchen. This kitchen is the perfect blend of rustic country style and modern rustic design. The Sebastian Cox Kitchens by deVOL are handmade in England. Visit the deVOL website for more information.
The renovation of this deVOL Sebastian Cox kitchen in the English countryside was shown in deVOL’s television serie “For The Love of Kitchens”.
