Elegant. That’s how I will describe this home. The European inspired home in downtown Louisville is a perfect mixture of elegance and comfort.
This home in downtown Louisville is designed by Journey + Jacobs who have created a beautiful space. They wanted to design rooms that were elegant and glamorous but at the same time warm and comfortable.
The light-filled rooms are decorated with high quality furnishings combined with warm colors in the home decor. This creates the perfect blend of elegant design and cozy spaces
The classic dark kitchen has marble countertops and a large kitchen island. The kitchen reminds me of the kitchen in Athena Calderone’s Brooklyn townhouse
The elegant built-in bench of the breakfast nook has underneat storage to keep the home neat and tidy
This small room is the perfect reading room. The bench has been fitted in front of the window to create a lovely window seat. Mustard yellow pillows have been added to create warmth to this room (click here for more mustard yellow home decor inspiration).
This window seat also reminds me of the perfect window seat in Captain’s Rest Airbnb in Tasmania
The living room is light with a leather sofa and carefuly selected decorations.
Pillows and throws in warm colors adds warmth to the room (click here for more warm color inspiration)
“Every piece of art in the space, including in the entry way gallery wall, was collected from the owner’s life together and their travels around the world”
A complete contrast to the rest of the home is this home office completely painted in a moody green hue. Even the ceiling has been painted to create a perfect green cocoon.
The bookshelves and desk haven been built in and also painted green for a harmonious and uncluttered look.
The bedroom is simple elegance with light color hues, a large rug and built-in wardrobes
But color is to be found in this wonderful bathroom. Blush pink plaster walls is combined with a modern bath and colorful floor tiles.
Blue, green and pink are wonderful color combinations in home decor
