Floral Wallpaper and a Pink Kitchen in a Midcentury Apartment
In the Swedish city of Gothenburg, we can tour this charming one-bedroom apartment of 57 square meters. The apartment features floral wallpaper in the living room, kitchen, and bedroom as well as pink and yellow color accents.
The apartment has a warm and cozy atmosphere, and the feeling from the 1940s has been preserved. The many original details, like the kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, parquet floors in Dutch design, and the limestone windowsills, give the apartment a charming look.
The living room is decorated with the Ingrid Marie wallpaper from Boråstapeter, which is paired with the original parquet floor and midcentury furnishings.
The dark wallpaper works in this room thanks to the large south-facing bay window and balcony door that let in plenty of natural light.
One wall in the living room is designed as a home office space with the wall painted in ‘Yellow Pink’ from Little Greene and shelves and a desk from String.
The cheerful hallway is painted in the same color as the living room wall.
The kitchen was completely renovated in recent years, but the midcentury charm has remained. The walls are decorated in the Dahlia Garden wallpaper from Boråstapeter, which is paired with walls painted in ‘Pink Ground’ by Farrow and Ball.
On the floor lie tiles in a white/red York pattern from Viktorian Floor Tiles.
A lovely dining nook has been created with a midcentury table and wishbone chairs. The colors of the bench and the cushions are taken from the wallpaper.
The bedroom walls are decorated in the ‘Dahlia Garden’ wallpaper from Boråstapeter. The room features the original midcentury wardrobes that offer plenty of storage.
A desk has been created between the wardrobes and the wall. This cozy nook is perfect for a small home office. The walls are painted in the same yellow tone that you see in the rest of the apartment.
