Pale Blue Walls and Huge Windows in a Swedish Loft Apartment
This bright corner loft apartment is located in a former university building in Stockholm. Three former university buildings dating from the 1860s, 1890s, and 1950s were converted into contemporary homes after a design by architect Andreas Martin-Löf.
This 90 square meter loft apartment is located in a high position of the building from the 1890s. The interior spaces are defined by high ceilings and huge windows in two directions, flooding the rooms with natural light.

The corner apartment beautifully pairs classical elements with contemporary storage solutions.
The living room’s 4.1-meter ceiling height, huge windows in two directions, and unobstructed views, thanks to its high location, give it a wonderful sense of space.
Warm wooden floorboards are paired with walls painted in a subtle light blue shade, enhancing the bright atmosphere.
All apartments in this residential building have a custom Kvänum kitchen inspired by the former laboratory interior and fume cupboards. The ceiling height has been taken advantage of by adding a double row of upper cabinets.
The combination of closed and open cabinets makes the kitchen less massive.
The kitchen cabinets are painted dark green (even though they look blue in these photos). They are topped with a limestone countertop.
High bookcases are fitted against the wall and around the inner window.
The walls surrounding the bathroom and next to the staircase are clad in Carrara marble.
The master bedroom is bright and airy with high ceilings, built-in wardrobes, and a built-in desk/vanity table.
The loft space features two rooms. The largest room is now a combined bedroom and home office with custom storage beds and a long desk.
The second room with a window facing the living room is now a cozy snug or reading room.
The bathroom is clad in green Marina Verde stone and cream-colored vertical tiles.
The washing machine and dryer are hidden behind a custom mirror door.
The hall is fitted with built-in storage by Kvänum, the same company that built the kitchen.
The apartment is listed for sale at Tradition.
