A Pretty Pink and Green deVOL Kitchen in South London
As a reader of The Nordroom, you know that I’m a big fan of deVOL Kitchens. This pretty pink and green kitchen arrived in my inbox today, and I’m delighted to share it with you. The kitchen is located in a period home in South London, and even though the room isn’t huge, there is a sense of grandeur thanks to the period features, high ceilings, and high-quality materials used in the kitchen.
The kitchen is designed using deVOL Real Shaker Cabinets, which are made in their workshop in Leicestershire, England. Kitchens are often painted in neutral shades like gray, black, or white. For this kitchen, they opted for light green and pink. deVOL Kitchens has its own furniture paint color collection, and these two hues were added to the collection in 2023.

The kitchen space is the perfect size for a U-shaped kitchen with an island in the center. The large window, high ceiling, and light color on the walls create an airy atmosphere in the room, which is helped by the fact that the majority of the room has no upper kitchen cabinets.
The Shaker kitchen cabinets are painted in deVOL’s ‘Princelet Pink’, a perfect soft blush shade that works so well in a period home. The kitchen island is painted in ‘Wilkes Green’, an old-fashioned green shade often used in Victorian homes.
Wilkes Green was also used in the St. Oak’s Apartment kitchen from Our Food Stories, which was published on The Nordroom a couple of weeks ago.
The cabinets’ fun color tones are paired with classic features such as the Calacatta Monet marble worktops, pink zellige tiles, brass handles, railings, and taps. Above the sink hangs deVOL’s ‘Frilly Cranberry Light’, adding another nice color pop to the space.
One wall with high cabinets is always better than an entire kitchen with upper cabinets if you’re limited in space. These cabinets house the larger appliances such as the fridge and you can add a pantry cupboard for extra storage.
Every Zellige tile is unique, so you get a lovely effect when they’re put together, as you can see here.
What made this press release extra special were the three photographs of the house cat modeling the deVOL ‘Bum Stool’. I take my work on The Nordroom very seriously, but I cannot resist sharing all three images of this perfect cat (and bar stools).
