A deVOL Kitchen in the St. Oak Apartment from Our Food Stories
Are you ready for a brand new deVOL kitchen? deVOL has teamed up with Nora and Laura from Our Food Stories again to design a new kitchen in their St. Oak Apartment in the historic town of Kyritz in Germany.
Laura and Nora from Our Food Stories have designed several homes in Sweden and Germany (some of these homes have also been published on The Nordroom), and they always use the British company deVOL for their kitchens.
The St Oak Apartment in Germany is their latest renovation project. They used deVOL’s newest paint color, ‘Wilkes Green,’ paired with the classic ‘Mushroom’ shade for this kitchen design.

The kitchen is located in a social open plan living space with high ceilings, large windows, and a beautiful herringbone parquet floor.
The room is ideal for socializing, and they used this in the kitchen design by adding a large island with bar seating so you can stay in touch with friends while you’re cooking.
The new Wilkes Green color looks perfect in combination with the neutral Mushroom shade used for the pantry cabinets.
deVOL offers a wide range of products that you can use in your home, and they are perfectly displayed in this kitchen. You can sit by the island on the Helen’s Stool, the Heirloom Gaselier Light hangs overhead, and on the Brass Hanging Rails hang pans and other kitchen utilities.
I’m a big fan of using a combination of cabinet styles and shelves. The glass cabinets and shelves are perfect for storing those items that can be visible while the closed cabinets hide clutter.
The white zellige titles that are used as the backsplash and the marble worktops perfectly reflect the light from the large windows.
This kitchen space is so big that they could add a wall of cabinets on one side. This also means they could keep the space above the worktops open with just a shelf, giving it a lovely open feeling, which I certainly prefer in a kitchen.
The floor-to-ceiling cabinets are painted in deVOL’s Mushroom paint, a light yet warm color.
I love how they kept the center open with shelves displaying beautiful crockery, it makes the wall of cabinets less bulky.
