A Renovated Pink Manor House in Portugal
This 19th-century rose-colored palace used to be a residence of a Count and Countess, but in recent years it has undergone a meticulous renovation to become a haven for every design lover.
The historic house is located on the outskirts of Setúbal on a secluded estate of 4.7 hectares that is surrounded by trees. Spanning three floors, the former Count’s manor house boasts 25 rooms including five suites and four bedrooms.
During the renovation work, period elements have been carefully restored with a contemporary sensibility. For example, the original floor was stripped of its dark varnish to reveal a beautiful herringbone parquet and the bathrooms feature original Viúva Lamego azulejos that are paired with Bruma tapware.
The owners have a keen eye for design which is reflected in the interior design. Furniture pieces from De La Espada, Gubi, and Flos are paired with handpicked vintage items.
The former servant’s quarters on the lower ground floor have been transformed into a 45m2 kitchen with a bespoke 4-meter island, a walk-in pantry, and a modern sculptural fireplace that opens out onto the patio and an outdoor kitchen.
The principal entrance through a magenta door opens into a grand entrance hall with an original fireplace and sweeping staircase.
The pink manor house features 250m2 of covered terraces.
stone stairs lead to the pool area that is surrounded by tall trees and lush gardens. New Calçada tiling has been laid around the saltwater pool.
Throughout the property, you will find citrus trees, including lemons, limes, grapefruits, apples, plums, nectarines, and numerous orange trees.
This unique manor house is for sale at Fantastic Frank Lisbon.
