A Scandinavian-Inspired Cabin in the Woods
A beautiful Scandinavian-inspired cabin is set in a quiet location on a 250-acre woodland plot on Fritton Lake in Norfolk. The cabin has been designed by KOTO Architecture and Design Studio as a holiday home for weekends of wintery walks, warming log fires, lakeside saunas, and quiet time.
With large floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides, the cabin offers beautiful natural views of the surrounding woodland and freshwater lake. The cabin is almost entirely made from sustainably sourced timbers and the external cladding is made of blackened British larch, which makes the cabin blend in with its surroundings.
The entire home is carefully furnished with Scandinavian design pieces from brands like HAY, Menu, Bolia, and Ferm Living, creating serene and natural spaces that provide the perfect base for relaxing and recharging.
The open-plan living room and kitchen are perfectly positioned to create the perfect lake views. The glass sliding doors can be opened up in the warmer months to create a perfect indoor/outdoor living space.
The living room is centered around a wood-burning stove for cozy winter nights.
Smart built-in storage has been fitted to the living room to keep the room uncluttered and stylish.
The kitchen is bespoke Made by Husk, and finished in suitably hard-wearing Neolith worktops.
The cabin has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The central bathroom has a walk-in shower and subtle color accents on the terrazzo floor tiles.
The master bedroom has bespoke built-in wardrobes and access to a deck.
The bedrooms are purposely decorated in a minimalistic style, the picture windows are carefully placed to offer woodland views from the bed.
The master bedroom’s en suite has a luxuriously deep and welcoming Lusso Stone bathtub and stylish black fittings.
There are two decked terraces. The one at the front can be accessed through the master bedroom and the one at the back faces south to the lake.
