A Small Attic Apartment with a Golden Yellow Bedroom
On the top floor of a 1940s building in Stockholm, you are welcomed by a very cozy attic apartment with exposed beams and a golden yellow bedroom. The 47 square meter apartment welcomes you with warm color accents and beautiful historic elements that show the history of the house.
The fine original windows in three directions fill the apartment with light and offer views of the lush greenery outside from spring to autumn. The apartment has a spacious living room with a herringbone parquet floor that is original to the house. The seating area and dining area is separated by a cast iron stove that will create a warm atmosphere in the dark and colder months.
The cozy living room has slanted ceiling with dark stained wooden beams that add instant charm to the space.
The walls are painted in Stockholm white, and the floor is covered with herringbone-patterned original parquet in matte lacquered oak.Â
There is plenty of space for a dining table and the owners added a red painted Ivar cabinet to the wall for an extra color pop.
The apartment has a small but functional kitchen with white cabinets and stone worktops. There are no upper cabinets in most part of the kitchen which creates a more spacious feeling.
The bedroom has a perfect niche between the two ceiling beams and under the windows to accomondate a double bed.
The walls in the living room are painted in a golden yellow hue called ‘Humble Yellow’ by Jotun.
