A Vintage Apartment with a Vibrant Blue Bedroom
Houses decorated with vintage designs are often the most popular home tours on this website. So, let’s take a look at another vintage apartment. We’re heading to Stockholm to tour this small vintage apartment.
The apartment is located on the corner of the apartment complex, so it has windows on two sides, meaning it’s flooded with natural light from morning to afternoon. The 41 square meter apartment has a living room with a balcony, a separate kitchen, and a large open space which they call an inner hall that is now used as a bedroom which is painted in a bold shade.
Most of the original details are preserved, such as some cupboards in the kitchen, windows and marble window sills, and the herringbone parquet in the living room and bedroom, and wooden floorboards in the kitchen.
Though it is small, with windows on two sides and a balcony, the living room feels airy. A large black and white striped rug (the classic Stockholm rug from IKEA) lies on the original herringbone floor, which is paired with midcentury style furnishings.
The kitchen has a classic look which includes some of the original cabinets.
There is enough room for a kitchen table and the wooden floor adds a raw touch to the space.
Several old Swedish apartments feature an inner hall; in this apartment, the room is big enough to be used as a bedroom.
Unlike the rest of the apartment, which is painted in white tones, the bedroom is painted in a bold blue shade paired with an ochre yellow throw. On the right is a built in wardrobe.
The apartment is listed for sale at Historiska Hem
