Sober Colors in a Small Renovated Stockholm Apartment
In a charming building, dating from 1884, in the Södermalm district of Stockholm lies this small one-bedroom apartment that was recently renovated. The small 44 square meter apartment has a muted base of gray painted walls and light wooden floors, creating a calm home where you can relax after a busy day in the city.
During the renovation a new kitchen was added, in the same muted color palette as the rest of the home. The home is small, but it has plenty of storage space in the hallway where wardrobes were built in to keep the other rooms without bulky furniture.

The living room is painted in ‘Cornforth White’ from Farrow and Ball, which changes shade with the light and reflects it nicely.
The light brown sofa and wooden coffee table add a warm touch to the gray space.
In the corner stands an original fireplace with Art Nouveau decorations, adding warmth when lighted and a historic touch to the small room.
The apartment has an open floor plan, so there are no walls between the living room and the two hallways. This helps to create a more spacious feeling in the small home.
The kitchen is a light space thanks to windows in two directions. The kitchen is made from IKEA cabinets paired with doors and knobs from Picky Living.
The gray cabinets are paired with a Carrara marble worktop and splashback.
In the corner, there is room for a round dining table with classic wishbone chairs.
The hal between the living room and kitchen is fitted with built-in wardrobes with doors and handles from Picky Living.
The tiny bedroom can be accessed through the living room. The room is painted in the same gray shade as the living room which is paired with earthy textiles.
