A Stylish Studio Apartment with a Sunny Yellow Kitchen
It’s time for some small home inspiration. This studio apartment with a separate kitchen is located on the third floor of a turn-of-the-century apartment building in the Kungsholmen district in Stockholm.
The 34-square-meter apartment has typical elements of a home built during this period. High ceilings and large windows with deep niches make this small home feel more spacious than its square meters might suggest.
From the hall, a wide entry leads you into the main space where sleeping and lounging are combined in a stylish manner.
The room is designed in a calm and classic style featuring white-oiled wooden floorboards, high skirting boards, and dove-gray walls that make the original white joinery stand out beautifully.
Painting the top part of the wall white, just as the ceiling, makes the ceiling look even higher than they already are.
The room can easily accommodate a seating area, defined by a light gray rug, and a sleeping quarter in front of the window. You can also divide the space with a sheer curtain or a partition wall to create a more private sleeping area.

The gray and wood base of the room is paired with subtle color accents, such as pink striped bedding, colorful art behind the sofa, and ochre-yellow cushions.
In old apartment, you sometimes have to be creative, and in this apartment, the old built-in closet has been turned into a shower room.
The biggest plus of this apartment is the separate and spacious kitchen. The kitchen features white mirror doors and drawers paired with a solid oak countertop, classic and stylish.
Above the counterspace, the walls are covered with classic white tiles, while a double row of upper cabinets takes advantage of the high ceilings, adding plenty of storage.
